Link Interactive actually has more than one control panel for you to choose from. Today we will only be focusing on Link’s IQ Panel 2 control panel which has the most features, and it is the most similar to what Protect America is offering. Link’s IQ Panel 2 has a sleek thin design that looks good and makes it easy to place. It is a wireless and cellular system, and it can connect to your home’s WIFI network as a backup. It is powered by an AC power source, and it includes a 24-hour backup-battery. You can control your system and any connected devices right from the IQ Panel 2’s 7-inch full colored touchscreen. The touchscreen also displays your system’s status, time, and local temperature. It has a 5 MP front facing camera that will be triggered to take a snapshot when your system is armed or disarmed. As you can probably deduce from reading about Protect America’s and Link Interactive’s control panels, is that they are the same. They both use the same model of control panels. They both really stand out from their competitors due to their control panels including a built-in glass break sensor, motion sensors, and a front facing camera. However, Link Interactive offers two-control panels while Protect America only offers the one, and for this reason we are giving them the win for this category.
Protect America offers wireless and battery-operated intrusion and environmental safety sensors. The most important parts of your home to provide coverage for is your entryways. Protect America offers different styles of door/window sensors, a motion sensor, and a glass break sensor which are all designed to protect the entryways to your home. Their door/window sensors will trigger your system if a door/window has been opened in which these sensors are placed. Their motion sensors can detect motion in large areas of your home, and are pet immune for smaller pets. Their glass break sensor will listen for the sound of breaking glass, and will trigger your system if this is heard. To keep your home safe from environmental dangers, Protect America offers smoke/heat, CO, and water leak sensors. These environmental sensors will make audible alerts if their designed environmental factor is detected while triggering your system. Protect America also offers secondary full colored touchscreen keypads. To quickly arm/disarm your system Protect America offers key remotes. Their key remotes will allow you to quickly arm and disarm your system with a push of a button. They also offer additional external sirens that are battery-operated and wireless. Home Automation
Protect America has a lot of great add-on equipment you can choose from. Protect America offers several different brands of smart locks for you to choose from that are easy to install. You can create custom user codes that can be enabled and disabled at any time with their smart locks as well the ability to remotely unlock and lock them. You will receive push notifications for when your smart locks have been locked and unlocked. Link Interactive offers garage door controllers to provide protection for your home’s garage doors. Their controller will allow you to remotely shut and open your garage doors. You will get alerts for when your garage doors have been opened or shut. Protect America has several energy saving devices that can help put some money back in your pocket. They offer a few types of smart thermostats including the Alarm.com smart thermostat. They also offer a smart outlet and light switch control. These devices can be controlled remotely, and you can set custom timers for when they come on and go off. Their smart thermostats are really great at cutting down on your home's energy consumption per month making your home greener.
Video Monitoring/Cameras
Protect America also has a nice selection of video surveillance cameras you can use with their system as well. They offer an indoor, outdoor, and video doorbell camera. These cameras include night vision, 2-way audio, motion sensors, and the ability to record video in HD. Link Interactive has all the basic equipment you need to give your home total protection. All the basic equipment offered by Link Interactive is wireless and battery-operated. Link Interactive offers a variety of intrusion sensors to keep the entryways of your home safe. They offer door/window, gate, tilt, glass break, motion, and image sensors. The gate sensor is unique in that it is a door/window sensor but for the gates/doors of the outside of your home. The image sensor is another unique sensor due to it being able to take snap shots when motion is detected in an area it is placed, but is not a unique sensor itself due to other companies offering it. Tilt sensors are used for the garage doors of home, and they will alert you to when your garage door has been opened or shut. Link Interactive offers a secondary fully colored touchscreen keypad that works a lot like the main control panel. You can control all of the basic functions for your IQ Panel 2 through this keypad. Link interactive offers a panic button that will immediately trigger your system if the button is pushed. To protect your home from the elemental dangers, Link Interactive offers a temperature/smoke sensor and a CO sensor. The temperature/smoke sensor will detect smoke and detect rises and drops in temperature while the CO detector will monitor for dangerous rises in CO gas. If these are detected these sensors will make an audible alert while triggering your Link Interactive security system. All equipment offered by Link Interactive is DIY, but they do include a step-by-step setup making setup quick and easy.

Home Automation
Link Interactive has a huge selection of add-on equipment that you can use with the panel and system. Link Interactive offers a few different popular brands smart locks like Yale smart locks. The smart locks offered by Link have a push-button keypad that allows for quick one touch arming. You can create custom user codes along with remotely control the smart locks while on the go. Link Interactive offers smart lights and light modules that can cut down on your home’s energy usage. You can set custom timers for when they come on and off. These devices can be controlled remotely. To remotely control the garage doors of your home, Link Interactive offers a garage door controller. You will also receive push notification anytime your garage doors have been opened or shut. To make your home a little more energy efficient you can add a smart thermostat to home that works great with Link Interactive’s system. The smart thermostat offered by Link works for the majority of HVAC heating and cooling systems. Custom timers along with remote control of this thermostat are some of the features that can make your home greener.
Monitoring/Cameras
Link Interactive also offers a nice selection of indoor, outdoor, and video doorbell cameras, all powered by Alarm.com - the gold standard in home security monitoring. The basic features for all Link cameras include HD video resolution, motion sensor, 2-way audio, and advanced night vision.

Protect America and Link offer wireless and battery-operated intrusion and environmental safety sensors. They have a pretty similar selection of basic equipment. We do really like the fact that Link Interactive offers a few more sensors that Protect America doesn’t offer like the gate sensor. Due to Link Interactive offering a more basic equipment than that of Protect America, we are giving Link Interactive the win for this category.
Both Protect America’s and Link Interactive’s control panels use Z-Wave protocols which allows for a lot of expansion. Both Protect America and Link Interactive offer smart locks and smart thermostats. They both also have some really nice video surveillance cameras that you can use with both systems. Protect America and Link Interactive both have a great selection of add-on equipment, but Link’s equipment is monitored by a much better app in Alarm.com, and for this reason we are give Link the win here.
Protect America and Link Interactive offer professional, self, and video monitoring services. The self-monitoring services are done through iPhone/Android apps which are free to download and work for smartphones devices. Both apps allow you remote control of your system and any connected devices while you are on the go. You can arm and disarm your system, stream live and recorded video clips, add/remove devices, customize system features, and receive push-notifications for events all through the app. Protect America’s app is powered by SecureNet and Link Interactive’s app is powered by Alarm.com, which means you will have more features than most other security apps like geo-fencing services and more home automation control. Professional monitoring services work the same in where you have a 24/7 professional monitoring station watching over your home for security, environmental, and medical emergencies. Link Interactive and Protect America’s month to month monitoring services costs run about the same. Protect America and Link Interactive both offer contracts which means you will not have to pay a lot up front for your equipment.
