Guardian Protection and Ring both offer self, video, and professional monitoring services. Their self-monitoring services are done through their apps which are free to download. You can download their apps to your smartphone for complete control of your system and connected devices. Their apps allow you remote control which allows you to do things like add/remove devices, view live/recorded video, use connected home automation devices on the go, customize features, and much more. However, Ring’s self-monitoring services are free to use while there is a month to month fee to use Guardian Protection’s self-monitoring services. Their professional monitoring services work the same in where you have a professional monitoring station watching over your home for emergencies 24/7. Their month to month fees for professional monitoring differ a bit. Guardian Protection doesn’t really give out pricing information without an email quote, while Ring does. Ring’s month to month professional monitoring services with video coverage tend to be cheaper than the average security company out on the market, and they do not require contracts.
