Frontpoint has a really easy to use control panel that connects all of your devices to one place. The control panel that Frontpoint uses is made of two parts; the Hub and a keypad. Frontpoint designed their system to be separated from the keypad allowing it to be placed in a separate location. This allows the system to be more secure from damage. Any damage that is done to the separate keypad will not affect the Hub. The Frontpoint Hub offers a smash-proof design. This means that even if the hub is damaged by an intruder, the hub will still transmit a signal to their monitoring station which will notify the station that the alarm has been triggered. The Frontpoint Hub has a dedicated 4G next generation cellular module which means no wires can be cut to disable the system. If you live in an area that does not get good cellular service no problem, the Frontpoint Hub has an internet back to make sure you are always protected. The Frontpoint Hub comes with a rechargeable 24-hour back up battery. The keypad itself is wireless and battery-operated which means that it can be placed anywhere around your home. You can choose to add multiple keypads to your system allowing you to be able to disarm your system for any location in your home. The Frontpoint Hub has a Z-Wave protocol that allows you to use other branded devices with it, making it pretty expandable.

Alarm.com has an above average selection of add-on equipment mis compatible with their plat. There are several different brands of smart locks that are all well-known names and well made. You can create custom user codes that can be enabled and disabled at any time with their smart locks which can unlock and lock on the go. You will receive push notifications for when your smart locks have been locked and unlocked. If your home has garage doors, you can use the Linear garage door controller. This controller will allow you to remotely shut and open your garage doors. You will get alerts for when your garage door has been opened or shut as well through the Alarm.com app. Alarm.com has several eco-friendly devices that are great at cutting down on your carbon footprint. They offer a few types of smart thermostats, a smart outlet, and light switch control. These devices can be controlled remotely through the Alarm.com app, and you can set custom timers for when they come on and go off. Their smart thermostats are excellent echo friend smart home devices that will cut down on your home’s energy consumption per month.

Video Monitoring/Cameras

Alarm.com also has a nice selection of video surveillance cameras you can use with their Alarm.com powered systems as well. They offer an indoor, outdoor, and video doorbell camera. These cameras include night vision, 2-way audio, motion sensors, and the ability to record video in HD. Alarm.com’s video surveillance cameras work by connecting wirelessly to your home’s WIFI network.

Frontpoint Equipment

Frontpoint has a lot of great basic sensors that easily connect to their Frontpoint Hub. They offer door/window sensors which can be used to protect either the doors or windows of your home. The sensors are are nano in size which means they are smaller than normal door/window sensors making them much easier to place. Fronpoint’s door/windows sensors are tamper proof which gives better protection against invaders who try to disable them. Frontpoint also offers motion sensors that have a range of 44 ft. with a viewing field of 90 degrees. Their motion sensors are pet immune which means that they will not detect a 85 lbs pet or two 60 lbs pets. Frontpoint offers glass break sensors which are great for protecting large glass areas of your home. Glass break sensors work by recognizing the sound of breaking glass, and they will alert you when this event has happened. Frontpoint also offers wireless and battery-operated temperature sensors. These sensors will detect changes in temperature and will alert a consumer to drastic rises and drops in temperature. They also offer smoke sensors that are wireless and battery-operated. Their smoke sensor will detect rises in smoke and will make an audible alert when this is detected. Frontpoint also offers CO detectors that will alert you to potentially dangerous levels of carbon monoxide gas in your home via an audible alert. They offer key fobs that sport a 4-button design that allows consumers to arm and disarm their system with only a push of a button. The last piece of basic equipment that front point offers are panic buttons. Their panic buttons will allow you to instantly trigger your system, and you will instantly get a response for your central monitoring station. Their panic buttons come with a comfortable elastic band and neck pendant so you can always have them with you. All the equipment offered by Frontpoint is DIY (do it yourself) which means you will need to set up up all the equipment by yourself, but they do include a setup guide for fast and easy installation.

Frontpoint offers a lot of great add-on equipment that allows you to expand your system. They offer smart LED bulbs that are perfect for cutting down the energy costs of your home. You can turn on and off these smart lights remotely through the Frontpoint app. If you are looking for a way to control small appliances or light fixtures you can purchase a wireless light control from Frontpoint. The light control plugs into an outlet, and any small appliance that is connected to the light control can be controlled remotely. You can turn off and on these appliances through the Frontpoint app while on the go. Fronpoint also offers automated door locks. Fronpoint’s automated door locks have a fingerprint resistant keypad design that will allow you to create custom user codes. Frontpoint offers garage controls that will allow you to remotely control your garage doors on the go. If for some reason you forget to close your garage door, an alert will be sent to you through the Frontpoint app (powered by Alarm.com). Frontpoint offers smart thermostats as well. For video surveillance equipment, Frontpoint offers the Alarm.com V622 Indoor Camera. This camera is wireless, and it is powered by an AC power source. The video resolution of this camera is 1080P with a 180-degree viewing angle which allows this camera to capture video in a wide area. The V622 indoor camera also has 2-way audio built-in with bluetooth audio streaming capabilities. You can also use other Alarm.com cameras with Frontpoint such as their outdoor cameras.
