After reading the description of both Vivint’s and CPI Security’s Control panels, we are sure you see some similarities. They both offer full colored touchscreen control panels that are wireless and have a battery backup. They also both have Z-wave protocols that will allow you to expand your systems to use other branded devices. CPI Security’s inTouch SmartHub has a few features that Vivint’s Smart Hub doesn’t have like a front pacing camera and a Micro SD slot for more storage. When it comes to environmental safety sensors, Vivint offers wireless and battery-operated smoke, CO, and flood sensors. These sensors will alert you when dangerous rises in an environmental factor like smoke is detected via an audible alert. Another category in where we see a lot of similarities between Vivint and CPI Security is with their basic equipment. They both offer wireless and battery-operated versions of their intrusion and life safety sensors. They both also offer professional installation of all their equipment. This category was a tough one to call because Vivint and CPI Security are pretty evenly matched when it comes to their basic equipment. However, Vivint does offer a few sensors that CPI Security doesn’t offer, and for this reason we are choosing them as the winner for this category.
Vivint and CPI Security have a really great selection of home automation and video cameras for you to choose from. They both offer some really nice smart locks. We really like the fact that they also have smart thermostats that you can choose from due to their ability to help you save some money on your home’s energy cost per month. However, CPI Security does have a bit larger selection of home automation equipment than that of Vivint and for that reason we are giving them the win for this category.
Vivint and CPI security offer video, self, and professional monitoring services. Their self-monitoring services are done through their apps which are free to download and work for Apple and Android devices. Vivint’s and CPI Security’s self-monitoring services allow remote control of your system and any connected devices. You can remotely arm and disarm your system, add and remove home automation and security devices, stream live/recorded video, and receive push notifications for events all through their apps on the go. Their professional monitoring services work by having a professional monitoring station always watching over your home 24/7. Anytime a security event is triggered that has not been disarmed, your central monitoring station will contact to you to see if its an actual emergency. If no one answer or it’s a true emergency, they will immediately dispatch emergency services. Their video monitoring services are done through their apps and work the same. You will be able to view live and recorded video clips on the go through their apps. Their month to month monitoring fees are about the same, and neither Vivint nor CPI Security really have any pricing information for their equipment.

Vivint and CPI Security are highly rated security providers that can provide you with a customized security solution that will keep your home protected. CPI Security’s inTouch SmartHub control panel has a ton of features that a lot of other similar control panels don’t have like a front facing camera. Choosing a home security provider can be tricky, but if you go with either Vivint or CPI Security you’ll be making a good choice. Vivint has a lot of great basic equipment that connects wireless to their modern-day touchscreen control panel. CPI Security also has a full colored touchscreen control panel, but their control panel has more features than that of Vivint’s full colored touchscreen control panel. CPI Security also has a larger selection of add-on equipment for you to choose form. For these reasons we are choosing CPI Security as us overall winner.
