Who wins?

This is another category where you find a lot of similarities between what Frontpoint and SimpliSafe have to offer. The basic equipment offered by both companies is wireless, battery-operated, and DIY. We really like the simple setup for SimpliSafe’s basic equipment, with most consumers being able to setup their systems within an hour. Frontpoint offers a bit more variety than that of SimpliSafe, and they include a temperature sensor. Because Frontpoint has a bit more variety of basic equipment than that of SimpliSafe we are giving them the win for this category.

There is a pretty drastic difference between what Frontpoint has to offer in add-on equipment, and what SimpliSafe has to offer. SimpliSafe has a very limited selection of add-on equipment, but we really do like the fact that their SimpliCam can be used both indoors and outdoors. Frontpoint however has ton of add-on equipment for you to choose from, and you can also use other branded add-on equipment with your Frontpoint system due to it including a Z-Wave protocol. Because Frontpoint has such a massive selection of add-on equipment when compared to SimpliSafe, we are giving them the win for this category.

The biggest difference between their apps is how they are powered. Frontpoint is powered through which means you have a ton of more features that you can use than that of SimpliSafe’s app. Frontpoint offers Geo-fencing technology which allows you to set an invisible fence that when crossed will automatically trigger you security, home automation, and video surveillance equipment to perform various customizable tasks.
