It has a built-in internal siren that will be sounded any time your system or devices connected to it are triggered.

Guardian Protection has a really easy to use control panel that has a lot of standout features. Guardian Protection offers their Guardian IQ2 which is a 7-inch full HD touchscreen control panel. It has a thin rectangular shape design that looks great inside any style of home. The Guardian IQ2 Panel is powered through an AC power source, and it includes a 24-hour backup battery. The Guardian IQ2 is a cellular system which means it transmits your data via a cellular chip that is installed inside the control panel. The Guardian IQ2 panel also connects to your home’s WIFI network as a backup connection. It has a front facing 5 MP camera that can be set to take a snapshot when your system is being armed and disarmed. It includes Bluetooth arming and disarming of your system which is a feature that arms or disarms your system automatically when you leave or return home. You can control all the features and devices for your Guardian Protection security system right from the Guardian IQ2 Panel. The Guardian IQ2 Panel includes a built-in glass break sensor and motion sensors. It has a Micro SD card slot for storage of any pictures taken by its front facing camera, and it has a built-in internal siren that will sound if your system or devices are triggered by an event. The Guardian IQ2 Panel has a Z-Wave protocol that allows you to use home automation and other smart devices with it making it very expandable.

Both Guardian Protection and Ring offer high quality security control panels. Their control panels use WIFI and cellular chips as a secure way to transmit your security data. They also both use Z-Wave Protocols making them very expandable. However, Guardian Protection’s control panel has more features than that of Ring, and for this reason we are choosing them as our winner for this category. Ring also offer a range extender for their system that plugs directly into an outlet. Their ranger extender makes sure that all your security devices are consistently transmitting a stable signal. Ring offers a wireless and battery-operated panic button that has a push-design, and it when the button is pushed, your emergency services will know help is immediately needed. To protect your home from environmental hazards Ring offers wireless and battery-operated smoke and CO listeners, and flood/freeze sensors. Their smoke and CO listener will listen for the alert sound of your existing smoke and CO detectors and will trigger your system if these sounds are heard. Their flood/freeze sensor will monitor the area in which they are placed for water leaks and drastic drops in temperatures, and if these are detected it will trigger your system. All the equipment offer by Ring is DIY (do it yourself) which means you will need to set up all the equipment yourself, but they do include a step-by-step setup guide.
Ring has been more well known for their video surveillance equipment along with their line of smart home products. Any of their products works with their Ring Alarm system, and they have a nice selection for you to choose from. Ring offers a wide variety of other branded smart locks like Kwikset, Yale, and Schlage. The smart locks they offer all can be remotely controlled through the Ring app, custom user codes can be made, and they have a push-button keypad. Ring also has a large selection of smart lights and switches you can choose from. Their smart lights can be remotely controlled while on the go, and custom timers can be set for when your lights tun on and off. Their smart switches allow you to control small appliances that are connected to them, and customer timers can be set for when these appliances turn on and off. There are also several other branded home automation devices that will work with Ring alarm including garage door controllers.
When it comes to video surveillance equipment, Ring has a hug selection for you to choose from. They offer several indoor, outdoor, floodlight, and video doorbell cameras. All of their cameras can capture video in stunning HD, and they include night vision, advance motion sensing, 2-way audio, and tons of customizable features. Their cameras work by connecting wireless to your home’s WIFI network, and most are either powered by a rechargeable battery or through an AC power source.
Guardian Protection and Ring have some really durable basic sensors. Their sensors are battery operated and wireless. We really like the fact that Guardian Protection offers professional installation for all their equipment. Guardian Protection also has a larger selection of basic equipment than that of Ring. For this reason, we are choosing them the winner as this category as well.
Guardian Protection and Ring offer a really huge selection of add-on equipment you can use with their systems. We really love all the variety of video surveillance cameras Ring offers. We love the fact that Guardian Protection offers an image sensor that you can use with their system. For this category we are going to call it a tie due to them being very evenly matched.

Guardian Protection offers wireless and battery-operated smoke/heat, CO, and flood sensors to keep your home safe from environmental dangers. Their garage door controllers will alert you to when your garage doors have been open or shut and allow you to remotely shut and open your garage door on the go. Guardian Protection has a light switch module that can help you cut down on your home’s energy consumption per month. This module is powered through an AC power source and it allows you to set times for when your lights come and go off and they can be controlled on the go.
Guardian Protection has a nice selection of video equipment as well. They offer a video doorbell, outdoor, and indoor camera. All of their cameras are powered through an AC power source, and they work by connecting to your home’s WIFI network. Their indoor, doorbell, and outdoor cameras allow you to capture video and stream in HD and they include night vision technology. Their doorbell camera has a 2-way audio feature that allows you to directly communicate with whomever is around your doorbell camera. Guardian Protection offers an image sensor as an alternative to having a video surveillance camera. Their image sensor is motion activated and pet friendly. It will snap an image anytime motion has been detected around it.
Guardian Protection and Ring both offer self, video, and professional monitoring services. Their self-monitoring services are done through their apps which are free to download. You can download their apps to your smartphone for complete control of your system and connected devices. Their apps allow you remote control which allows you to do things like add/remove devices, view live/recorded video, use connected home automation devices on the go, customize features, and much more. However, Ring’s self-monitoring services are free to use while there is a month to month fee to use Guardian Protection’s self-monitoring services. Their professional monitoring services work the same in where you have a professional monitoring station watching over your home for emergencies 24/7. Their month to month fees for professional monitoring differ a bit. Guardian Protection doesn’t really give out pricing information without an email quote, while Ring does. Ring’s month to month professional monitoring services with video coverage tend to be cheaper than the average security company out on the market, and they do not require contracts.
