If your Protect America or connected devices are triggered, Protect America will sound its internal siren while sending you an instant alert through the Protect America app. It includes Bluetooth disarming and arming which is a built-in feature that will automatically arm your system when you leave home, and disarm your system when you return.

Alder Security Control Panel
Alder Security has a really easy to use full colored touchscreen control panel. The Alder Security control panel has a 7-inch full colored touchscreen that you can use to control your Alder Security system and any connected devices. This control panel is a cellular control panel that can transmit your security data via 4G LTE cellular signal for a fast and a secure connection. It is powered by an AC power source but it includes a 24-hour backup battery. Alder Security control panel includes a built-in siren for when your Alder Security system or connected devices are triggered, and it includes 2-way audio that allows you to directly communicate with your central monitoring station during an emergency. You can create custom user codes for different users of this control panel which can be disabled and enabled by the master user code. Alder Security allows for one touch arming and disarming which cuts down on the amount of false alarms caused by a lot of other security control panels. Who wins?
Protect America and Alder Security both offer really nice and easy to use control panels. They both offer cellular panels that transmit your security data via an encrypted signal. They both also have full colored touchscreen control panels. However, Protect America’s control panel has a lot more features than that of Alder Security, and for this reason we are making them the winner of this category.
Protect America Equipment
Protect America offers wireless and battery-operated intrusion and environmental safety sensors that will protect the entryways of your home. Protect America offers different styles of door/window sensors which will fit a variety of different door/window frames. They offer a motion sensor and a glass break sensor. Their door/window sensors will trigger your system if a door/window has been opened in which these sensors are placed. Their motion sensors can detect motion in large areas of your home. Their glass break sensor will listen for the sound of breaking glass, and if this sound is heard it will trigger your system. To keep your home safe from environmental dangers, Protect America offers smoke/heat, CO, and water leak sensors. These environmental sensors will make audible alerts if their designed environmental factor is detected while triggering your system. Protect America also offers additional full colored touchscreen keypads which have a lot of the same features of their main control panel. To quickly arm/disarm your system Protect America offers key remotes. Their key remotes will allow you to quickly arm and disarm your system with a push of a button. Their smart locks are DIY (all of their add-on equipment is) which means you will need to set it up yourself but installation is a breeze. You can create custom user codes that can be enabled and disabled at any time. You will also be able to remotely unlock and lock them while on the go. You will instant alerts for when your smart locks have been locked and unlocked. Protect America offers garage door controllers that can protect your home’s garage doors. Their controller will allow you to remotely shut and open your garage doors, and you will get instant alerts for when your garage doors have been opened or shut. Protect America has several greener home automation devices that can help save you some money. They offer a few types of smart thermostats including the Alarm.com smart thermostat. They also offer a smart outlet and light switch control. These devices can be controlled remotely, and you can set custom timers for when they come on and go off. Their smart thermostats are really great at cutting down on your home’s energy consumption per month making your home greener.

Alder Security’s sensors all work by connecting wirelessly to their full color touchscreen control panel. The sensors that are offered by Alder security are wireless and battery-operated. Alder Security offers door/window sensors and motion sensors to protect the entryways to your home. If a door or window in which a door/window sensor has been placed is opened, it will trigger your Alder Security system. Their motion sensor will trigger your security system if motion is detected in the area in which they are placed. They have a key fob remote that has a 4-push button design that allows you to arm and disarm your system with the touch of button. It includes a built-in panic button that will instantly trigger your system and contact emergency services to let them know help is needed. To protect your home against environmental factors, Alder Security offers a fire and a flood sensor. Their fire sensor will look for dangerous rises in smoke while their flood sensor will look for water leaks or rises in water. If these are detected it will trigger your Alder Security system while making an audible alert. Alder Security has a bit of a limited selection of addon equipment. They do not offer any home automation devices, and the only extra device they offer is a medical pendant. Their medical pendant is battery-operated, and it has an easy to push push-button that will immediately let emergency services know that help is needed if this button is pushed. Alder Security does have some really nice video surveillance cameras that you can use with their system. Alder Security offers the YI Kami outdoor camera. This camera is wireless, and it is made from weatherproof material which means it will work perfectly outdoors. It has a 140-degree wide angle field of view, and it can capture video in 1080P video resolution. It has smart motion sensors that can distinguish between human and non-human signatures, and if human signatures are detected it will trigger it to start to record. You can use the YI Kami’s 2-way audio feature to respond to whomever is around your YI Kami cam. The last piece of add-on equipment that Alder Security offers is the YI Indoor Camera. This camera is also wireless and it is powered by an AC power source. The YI Indoor Camera has a 112-degree field of view and can capture video in 1080P. It has smart motion detection, 2-way audio, advanced night vision, and lens distortion correction. One really standout feature for the YI Indoor Camera is that it has baby cry detection in where the YI Indoor Camera can distinguish the sound of a baby’s cry, and if this is detected you will be instantly alerted.

Protect America and Alder Security have the same types of sensors. Their sensors are wireless and battery-operated. Their sensors also are tamper proof and connect wirelessly to their control panels. We really like the fact that Alder Security offers professional installation of your equipment. Protect America has a huge selection of basic equipment that can give your home total coverage. Protect America does have few basic sensors that Alder Security doesn’t offer, and for this reason we are choosing them as our winner for this category as well.
There is a huge difference in this category between the selection of add-on equipment that Protect America has to offer and what Alder Security has to offer. Unfortunately, Alder Security doesn’t really offer any home automation devices at the moment for their system. However, we do really like the high-quality video surveillance equipment that Alder Security offers. Protect America’s app is powered by Alarm.com which means you will have more features than what is offered by Alder Security.
