CPI Security offers their inTouch SmartHub which centrally connects your system with all your security, home automation, and video surveillance devices. The inTouch SmartHub is a full colored touchscreen control panel that allows you to control your security system with a touch of a button. One really cool feature of the inTouch SmartHub is that it has a front-facing built-in camera that takes a snap shot of whomever is near you control panel when your system is being disarmed. The touchscreen itself is 7 inches with an HD screen resolution. It has a 2-way audio feature that will let you directly communicate with your central monitoring station along with allowing you to communicate through video surveillance equipment that has an audio output feature.

The inTouch SmartHub also uses Z-Wave technology which will allow you to connect and control smart home automation devices all in one place. This panel allows you to connect up to 119 different devices to it, and you will be able to create up to 242 custom user codes. It has a Micro SD slot built-in which will allow you to use a Micro SD card for expanded storage. The inTouch SmartHub is powered through an AC power source, but it does come with a backup battery just in case your power goes out. This control hub is wireless and transmits data via cellular data, but it also allows you to connect it to your home’s WIFI network so that you have two ways your hub is transmitting data which makes your connection more reliable.

Who wins?

Guardian’s and CPI Security’s control panels are quite different from one another. Fronpoint’s control panel has a simplistic design, comes in two parts; the base and keypad, and it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. We do really like Guardian’s Crash and Smash feature that is built into their control panel due to the extra security it gives you. CPI Security’s control panel is packed full of features, has an amazing display, and its easy to use. Guardian Equipment

Guardian Protection has all the basic sensors you need to give your home total protection. Guardian Protection offers door/window sensors that are battery operated and wireless. These sensors are meant to be placed on the door or window frame, and they will trigger your system if the doors/windows that a sensor has been placed on is opened. They also offer a similar sensor called the Smart Sensor. Guardian Protection’s Smart Sensor is similar to their door/window sensors with the exception that they are primarily meant to be used with doors. Guardian Protection offers motion sensors which are battery operated and wireless. Motion sensors are great for covering large areas of your home, and they will alert you to when motion has been detected in the room in which they were placed in. If you glass windows in your home, Guardian Protection offers glass break sensors to protect the windows in your home. Their glass break sensors are wireless and battery operated. Their glass break sensors will listen for the sound of breaking glass, and trigger your system if this sound is heard. If you are looking for a quick way to disarm and arm your system then you would want a Guardian Protection key remote. Their key remote is battery operated and allows you to quickly arm and disarm your system with a touch of a button. Guardian Protection offers a nice selection of home automation and video surveillance cameras that works perfectly with their control and system. Guardian Protection has a really wide variety of home automation devices that you can buy directly from them. They offer a really nice smart thermostat that has a push button design, and it works for the majority of HVAC heating and cooling systems. Their smart thermostat allows you to remotely control your heating and cooling system as well as set timers for when it comes and goes off. Guardian Protection offers smart door locks as well. Their automated door locks allow you to create customized user codes and can be controlled remotely. Guardian Protect offers garage door controllers to provide some protection for your garage doors. Their garage door controllers will alert you to when your garage doors have been open or shut. You can also remotely shut and open your garage door on the go. Guardian Protection has a light switch module that can help you cut down on your home’s energy consumption per month. This module is powered through an AC power source. Any lights that are connected to this module can have their brightness adjusted, have schedules for when they turn on and off, and can be remotely controlled on the go

Video Monitoring/Cameras

Guardian Protection does offer some video surveillance equipment as well. They offer a video doorbell, outdoor, and indoor camera. All of their cameras are powered through an AC power source, and they work by connecting to your home’s WIFI network. Their indoor, doorbell, and outdoor cameras allow you to capture video in full color, and include night vision technology. Their doorbell camera has a 2-way audio feature that allows you to directly communicate with whomever is around your doorbell camera. It will snap an image anytime motion has been detected around it.

For a fast way to arm and disarm your system CPI Security offers battery-operated keychain remotes. CPI Security’s keychain remotes have a push-button design that includes a built-in panic button.

When it comes to environmental safety sensors, CPI Security has a nice selection of these types of sensors. They offer wireless and battery-operated smoke, CO, temperature, and flood sensors. These sensors are designed to look for rises in environmental factors that could cause damage to your home. The last basic equipment that CPI Security offers is a battery-operated medical pendent. This is designed to keep an eye on those in your family who may have health problems. It has an easy to push push-button design that will immediately notify emergency services that help is needed. Guardian and CPI Security offer a lot of similar types of basic equipment. Their entryway and environmental sensors are battery-operated and wireless. Guardian’s door/windows sensors are smaller than normal door/window sensors making them easier to place. CPI Security however offers some basic equipment like their medical pendent that Guardian doesn’t offer. Still, Guardian Security has a larger selection of basic equipment, we are giving them the win for this category.

Guardian and CPI Security have a lot of add-on equipment that lets you expand your system to give it a personalize feeling. Guardian offers a lot of great energy saving devices like their LED bulbs which are great at cutting down on your home’s energy cost per month. Guardian and CPI Security offer professional, self, and video monitoring services. Their self-monitoring services are done through their apps. Their apps are free to download and work for Apple and Android devices. Their apps will allow you to remotely arm and disarm your system, stream live and recorded video, and receive push notifications for events.
