Who wins?

This is another category where you find a lot of similarities between what Frontpoint and SimpliSafe have to offer. The basic equipment offered by both companies is wireless, battery-operated, and DIY. We really like the simple setup for SimpliSafe’s basic equipment, with most consumers being able to setup their systems within an hour. Frontpoint offers a bit more variety than that of SimpliSafe, and they include a temperature sensor. Because Frontpoint has a bit more variety of basic equipment than that of SimpliSafe we are giving them the win for this category.

There is a pretty drastic difference between what Frontpoint has to offer in add-on equipment, and what SimpliSafe has to offer. SimpliSafe has a very limited selection of add-on equipment, but we really do like the fact that their SimpliCam can be used both indoors and outdoors. Frontpoint however has ton of add-on equipment for you to choose from, and you can also use other branded add-on equipment with your Frontpoint system due to it including a Z-Wave protocol. Because Frontpoint has such a massive selection of add-on equipment when compared to SimpliSafe, we are giving them the win for this category.

Frontpoint vs SimpliSafe App

Fronpoint and Simplisafe both offer professional, video, and self-monitoring services. Their self-monitoring services are done through their apps which work for Android and Apple devices. With their apps you can control your system and devices remotely while on the go. You can also customize any equipment that is connected to your system through their apps. You will receive push notifications anytime your system or equipment is triggered through their apps as well. You can stream live and recorded video right from their apps while on the go.

The biggest difference between their apps is how they are powered. Frontpoint is powered through Alarm.com which means you have a ton of more features that you can use than that of SimpliSafe’s app. Frontpoint offers Geo-fencing technology which allows you to set an invisible fence that when crossed will automatically trigger you security, home automation, and video surveillance equipment to perform various customizable tasks. Their professional monitoring services work the same in where you have a 24/7 professional monitoring station watching over your home 24/7.

One of the biggest differences between Fronpoint’s monitoring services and SimpliSafe’s is the pricing. SimpliSafe is much cheaper than that of Frontpoint’s month to month monitoring costs. SimpliSafe also offers contract free services which means you will need to pay for your equipment upfront while Fronpoint offers contracts from 1 to 3 years which means they give huge discounts on their equipment.
