Our take: The equipment that is offered by Deep Sentinel is everything you need to get some video surveillance protection for your home. We really like the design of Deep Sentinel’s security camera, and the fact that it can be used indoors or outdoors. We also like the processing power of the AI Hub. However, if you wanted door, window and motion sensors to go along with it, you’re out of luck. It also includes advanced motion sensing technology, that will trigger your Deep Sentinel’s camera to start recording when motion has been detected. Deep Sentinel’s security camera has advanced image sensing technology as well that can distinguish between human and non-human images. If a human image is detected Deep Sentinel’s security camera will start to flash red and then start to record.
Our take: We really love all the advanced features that Deep Sentinel’s security camera has to offer. We really love their advanced image sensing technology due to the fact that is cuts down on false alerts. We also really love that Deep Sentinel’s security camera has a siren which can easily deter potential home invaders. However, as we have already stated, the lack of sensors with the system is a huge drawback. Deep Sentinel’s monitoring service is a bit different than other security companies that are out on the market. Deep Sentinel uses what they call Guards. Guards are security specialists that are located at a Deep Sentinel central monitoring station. They will watch over your security cameras, and if your security camera has detected a threat, a Guard will assess your camera’s video feed to see if there is an actual threat. They will respond to whomever is in front of your camera using its 2-way audio feature. Alarm.com’s indoor cameras have a video resolution of 1080P with a wide field of view. They include night vision technology that allows you to capture images up to 15 feet at night. They also include motion sensors that will trigger your camera to start to record. However, just like Alarm.com’s outdoor cameras they do not include a 2-way audio feature or advanced image sensing technology.
The last type of video surveillance cameras that are offered by Alarm.com are their doorbell cameras. Their doorbell cameras can record video in 720P with a 180-degree viewing angle. They also include full colored night vision technology that allows you to capture full colored videos even when there is no light around. They have motion sensing technology that will trigger them to start to record, and they include a 2-way audio feature that allows you to directly communicate with whomever is in front of your camera.

With Deep Sentinel’s app you can control the features of your Deep Sentinel camera. The app works for Apple and Android devices, and it will send you push notifications when your Deep Sentinel camera starts to record. You can also stream and view recorded video clips right from the app.

The Alarm.com app also works for Android and Apple Devices. It has the same features as the Deep Sentinel app plus much more. The Alarm.com app allows you to also incorporate home automation and security equipment, and you can control them all from the Alarm.com app. You can also use Alarm.com’s Geo-Fencing technology, which will set an invisible perimeter around your home that when someone crosses this perimeter it will cause your devices to react (such as a video camera starting to record when this fence is crossed).
Our take: When comparing Deep Sentinel to Alarm.com we personally like what Alarm.com has to offer better. Deep Sentinel is very limited when it comes to what equipment can be used with their security solution which is basically just a surveillance camera and a hub. Alarm.com however has a ton of security, home automation, and video surveillance equipment that you can use with their services. The features for the Sentinel app are also more limited than what is offered through Alarm.com. We also prefer Alarm.com because they have been in the security business for a long time now, and many major security companies use their app to power their self-monitoring services.
