Alarm.com PoE Cameras: VC836, VC826, V723 and V726

There are several really great video surveillance cameras out on the market, and today we will be taking a look at Alarm.com’s PoE (short for Power over Ethernet) security cameras.

There are many times in our lives that we wished that we had kept a closer eye on our personal belongings. It seems that every year there are more and more cases of property theft taking pace across the United States. This can cause great emotional and financial stress to those who suffer this type of loss.

There are several ways to keep your home safe from property theft. One way is to invest into a home security system. Even though having a home security system is a great way to protect the things most valuable to you, sometimes that isn’t enough. Many homeowners in current times have opted to add some video surveillance equipment to their home security setup. One way to protect yourself against these types of losses is to invest in one or more PoE security cameras. Today we will be looking at some popular models of Alarm.com PoE cameras.

Before we start to take a look at some of Alarm.com’s PoE cameras we would first like to give our readers some background information about the company. Alarm.com was founded in 2002 as a way for end-users to use security systems remotely. They have since then expanded their market out to make security products of their own like their cameras.

Today many major security companies use Alarm.com services to power their remote control services for their security equipment. Link Interactive uses Alarm.com technology as well - when you sign up with any one of our monitoring plans, you will get access to Link Interactive’s Alarm.com powered mobile app, from where you would be able to control and monitor your security system and cameras.

A note on PoE cameras:

You will need a switch, which is not provided with the camera. It includes everything you will need to get your camera up and running except for the switch. That you will need to purchase separately if you do not already have one. A switch looks like this and can be bought of Amazon (simply search for “PoE switch”):

Alarm.com ADC-VC836 PoE Camera

The first Alarm.com camera we will be taking a look at is the ADC-VC836 Camera. The ADC-VC836 Camera can be used for indoors or outdoors. It is a wireless camera that works by connecting to your home’s internet. You can power and connect your camera using its PoE feature. PoE means power over Ethernet. This allows you to not only power your camera but also connect to your home’s internet at the same time which gives you a more reliable connection, and one less wire to run through or along your wall.

You also have the option to power this camera via an AC power source, and you can connect it wirelessly to your home’s Wi-Fi network. It has a sphere like design, and is made from IP67 weather-proof material that allows you to use it rain or shine.

The video resolution is a crisp 1080P with a 108-degree viewing angle. It has infrared night vision that allows you to capture images up to 30 meters at night. The ADC-VC836 Camera is fairly easy to install.
