App Control

As with most Z-Wave door locks, Schlage gives you the ability to remotely control your Schlage lock through an app on your iOS or Android phone. The best way to take advantage of this feature is to incorporate your Schlage lock with a compatible security and home automation system, such as the Link Interactive home security system. You can then use the Link Interactive app to control the system and the lock all from one place.

Home Automation

Some of the app control features include locking and unlocking, getting event notifications and being able to check lock status. That’s not all though; you can also create Scenes or rules based on IFTTT (If This Then That). What this basically means is that you can create a sequence of security events in the app, save the sequence as a Scene and apply it with a push of a button whenever you like. For example, you can create a Scene called After Work and have the security system lock the door, turn the lights on and lower the temperature on your smart thermostat all at the same time or one after another. The Link Interactive app can do this and a whole lot more. Click here to find out more.

If you’re planning to use the Schlage lock as a standalone device and do not wish to integrate it with a security system, you can download the stand-alone Schlage app instead, but we do recommend using a Z-Wave lock in conjunction with a security system because it provides more complete protection.
